The head researcher of a research lab, known as Astral, possessed unparalleled brilliance and an indomitable spirit, resulting in numerous groundbreaking discoveries that would revolutionize the world, most notably the creation of the original primal beasts. However, as Astral delved deeper into his studies of evolution, he formulated his own interpretations of the gods' intentions, culminating in the establishment of the fallen angels with the aim of orchestrating a cataclysmic finale intended to bring about the world's destruction.

However, this raid can be difficult if it is going to be your first time. I am the Samurai and this in video, I will be breaking down all of Lucilius' Attacks and Mechanics concisely for you to be equipped in the upcoming fight and ultimately save time and farm the latest Sigils available.

First and foremost, I'll outline his attacks in the order they occur during the fight, giving you a clear picture of what to anticipate. Let's begin with his initial attack, which happens to be the most challenging mechanic: Paradise Lost. During this crucial phase, Lucilius unleashes a barrage of lasers that leave damaging puddles on the ground, accompanied by lengthy laser beams originating from various directions. This mechanic frequently leads to party wipes. To survive, keep moving and evade the puddles by traversing the arena. However, the difficulty lies in dodging the sudden appearance of straight laser beams. Watch for purple lights illuminating the arena and they indicate where these beams will emerge, allowing you to dodge them effectively.

These lasers have the potential to instantly eliminate players, creating a chaotic situation if proper precautions aren't taken. However, having Vane in your party can significantly increase your chances of survival during this mechanic. Employing Rampart will effectively shield the entire party throughout the entirety of Paradise Lost, showcasing the value of Vane users once more in this raid. Following the initial occurrence of Paradise Lost, Lucilius will transition into employing his standard attack combinations. I will provide a concise breakdown for each of these subsequent attacks. Lucilius will draw the entire party towards him and conjure a magic circle overhead, causing orbs to rain down upon us. To evade this attack, execute a perfect dodge as the orb makes contact, or move towards Lucilius, as the inner orbs closest to him will descend first. It's important to note that these orbs can inflict SBA sealing, so remain vigilant. The following attack in Lucilius's arsenal is called Spreading Orbs. You can readily identify this move when Lucilius forcefully pushes your party away from him, followed by the unleashing of spreading orbs. Similar to the initial attack, merely dodge towards him to effectively evade this assault.

This attack starts with a shockwave and later on Lucilius will gap close to the target and deal heavy sword swings. This attack deals a lot of damage but one can easily dodge this since Lucilius tends to target a single entity while doing this. Get around him and deal damage on his blindsides to avoid the attacks. Moving on to the subsequent attack, we have the Donut AOE Sword Flurries. You can recognize that Lucilius is about to execute this move when his swords begin to rotate slowly around him, indicating his preparation for a sweeping AOE sword slash. The safe spots are either outside of the AOE range, where you distance yourself from Lucilius as much as possible, or dash towards him, as his actual position serves as a safe zone due to the donut-shaped attack AOE range, hence its name. I recommend rushing towards him, as you can deal extra damage while he executes this mechanic.

Moving on to the next attack, we have the Strong Quick AOE Sword Flurries. This attack is arguably the most challenging to evade, as Lucilius can execute it swiftly. Pay close attention as Lucilius begins to emit a red glow or aura, accompanied by a bright red light, signaling players to dodge. If you're not confident in executing a perfect dodge, it's advisable to immediately disengage from him. Personally, I'm also learning to handle this attack. I've attempted to block it, but my guard breaks every time, so I've come to rely on dodging instead. Now, let's discuss the following attack, Floating Swords. From our observations thus far, Lucilius rarely employs this move, but it's still a possibility. During this attack, Lucilius's swords target an entity and pierce it. If the swords strike the ground, they create mini fissures. Players can easily evade this by dodging to a safe spot. While it's a potent attack, it's relatively simple to avoid.

Next up, we have the Stationed Crystals attack. Lucilius will summon several stationary crystal towers across the arena, which explode upon detecting nearby entities. To evade this, refrain from approaching any of these crystal towers. However, remain vigilant, as there are instances where Lucilius positions himself near these crystals, increasing the risk of inadvertently activating them. The final standard attack to mention is the Arching Laser. While we've encountered a similar attack from Bahamut Versa, this time it moves faster. Time your dodge carefully, as this attack sweeps across the entire arena. With the standard attacks covered, let's proceed to Lucilius's significant mechanics. When Lucilius's health drops to around 80 to 85%, he initiates his second major mechanic known as the Seven Trumpets. This mechanic comprises three distinct phases, with the first being the Punishment Phase.

Initially, it can be quite perplexing, particularly when observing the icons below the Punishment Attack Gauge. Essentially, these icons represent the sequence of Lucilius's Seven Trumpets phases, which you can overlook and concentrate on the mechanics instead. Managing this mechanic is straightforward: simply select a color when the mechanics commence. Subsequently, additional instances of the chosen color will emerge, requiring you to promptly pursue and step on them while evading the arena-wide ring attack that moves. To prevent damage, steer clear of the purple or inactive-colored circles, and concentrate solely on the chosen color. Repeat this process four times, and you and your party will successfully navigate through this mechanic. Additionally, it's advisable to track the trajectory of the circles to optimize your approach; consider moving in the opposite direction to efficiently intercept them. Moving on to the Holy Wings Phase, strike any of the colored center orbs, after which the selected orb will disperse into smaller ones. Your task is to locate and destroy all of these orbs while evading the surrounding laser beams. You can easily dodge the lasers by observing their predetermined paths. Continue employing this strategy for the subsequent orbs, and you will successfully navigate through this mechanic.

During the Trinity Terror Phase, Lucilius will conjure three swords, each with distinct attack animations. Our typical approach involves concentrating our firepower on a single weapon to expedite clearing times. Each sword emits its own AOE visual signals, enabling easy dodging. Additionally, there's a donut AOE closing in on Lucilius, so ensure you dodge it while addressing the swords. If the mechanics are not executed correctly, the party will incur HP debuffs. It's important to note that should any of the mechanics be mishandled, Lucilius will impose Maximum HP cuts on the entire party, resulting in reduced maximum HP for all members. This will undoubtedly make the fight more challenging. In the concluding phase of this mechanic, Lucilius will attempt to initiate the second Paradise Lost. However, players must execute an Overburst, entailing a full chain burst with Sandalphon, to completely halt Paradise Lost and inflict additional damage. Successfully performing an Overburst will prompt Sandalphon to initiate a captivating cutscene and deliver supplementary damage to Lucilius.

Nevertheless, if the party fails to execute an Overburst, they can rely on defensive measures such as Vane's Rampart or manual dodging to endure Paradise Lost. However, this approach may prove challenging and potentially result in significant losses. Between 75% to 60% of Lucilius's HP remains. Following the captivating cutscenes, Lucilius returns to executing standard attacks. This presents an opportunity for players to inflict substantial damage on Lucilius. Typically, this is when our Link Time activates, enabling us to swiftly reduce his health to 60%. Entering Lucilius's Second Phase (when his HP falls below 60%) triggers a transformation, granting him access to a new array of mechanics.

As Lucilius transitions to his second form, he initiates Final Rebellion, summoning homing puddles and lasers to target you and your party members. To ensure survival, maintain constant movement to evade both the homing puddles and lasers. Time your dodges carefully and be cautious not to step on any purple goo on the ground, as it inflicts slow. While this may seem daunting initially, once you become accustomed to the mechanics, it becomes much more manageable.

Lucilius concludes this mechanic by launching a sizable energy ball into the arena. Evade this by positioning yourself on the outermost edges of the arena to steer clear of the energy ball's AOE damage. Additionally, be prepared to jump to avoid the ground shockwave that follows. It's crucial to note that the purple goo on the ground will explode after the shockwave passes, so maintain a safe distance from these areas. Following the First Final Rebellion (60% to 30% HP), Lucilius will resume his regular attacks. This provides players with an opportunity to further decrease their health. It's worth noting that there's a possibility for Lucilius to initiate the third Paradise Lost when his HP drops to 50% or below. players can stop this attack by dishing out a single SBA. This will halt his attempt to cast another Paradise Lost.

Entering the Second Final Rebellion phase (HP below 30% to 20%), after the initial occurrence, players must continue lowering Lucilius's health until it reaches 30%, triggering the second Final Rebellion. Simply repeat the mechanics to navigate through this phase successfully. Upon reducing Lucilius's health to 20%, he initiates his final major mechanic, the Gopherwood Ark. In this phase, he blitzes across the arena, a maneuver familiar to endgame players from previous encounters such as Ido's fight. However, it's notably more intense. Survival is straightforward: evade the line AOEs to ensure your safety.

Following the Gopherwood Ark, Lucilius reverts to executing regular attacks while also attempting to cast another Paradise Lost when his health reaches around 15%. In our experience, we typically have at least one SBA charge available at this point to prevent him from casting. Hence, it's imperative that your party is ready to perform at least one Full Burst during this phase. Similar to other major battles, Lucilius will enact a Damage Check Mechanic known as The End. While there's no problem with swiftly reducing his health, be cautious of his swords, which pose a threat to you and your party members during this mechanic. Focus on bursting Lucilius down and securing that satisfying victory.
