Weapons in Granblue Fantasy Relink are the characters' main Equipment and serve to deal damage to Enemies as well as contribute to the characters' Stats. Each Weapon provides a different set of stats and effects that improve a character's overall prowess. Each character can wield only a specific set of Weapons, but each one can be under any of the five Weapon types. This page aims to provide the list of weapons in the game so players can check each weapon's stats and effectively choose the right ones for their builds, covering each weapon's Stats, effects, and Locations.

Weapons in Granblue Fantasy Relink are categorized by both Character and Weapon type. Each Character can equip only a specific set of Weapons, however, each Character can have Weapons of multiple Weapon types. Each Weapon type corresponds to the initial innate Trait available to that Weapon when acquired, exclusive of any Sigils equipped by the Character. This allows each Character to take on a different role from the party, even if it's not the initial role that the Character excels in, allowing for deeper levels of customization.

What are Weapons in GBF Relink?

Weapons in Granblue Fantasy Relink another layer of character customization which can be intricate due to each weapon's effects and provided stats. The game will feature a vast selection of weapons to choose from, perfect for a wide variety of playstyles. Each character can only wield a specific set of weapons, which is cohesive with each of their playstyles and how their kits work. Each Weapon contributes to both the ATK and HP stats of the character, given that there's no armor-type Equipment in the game.

Depending on the Weapon's innate Trait and equipped Sigils, it can also contribute to the character's Critical Hit Rate, and Stun Power, as well as other unique passives that will enhance the character's capabilities on the battlefield, depending on the role players want to play them in. Weapons and upgrade materials for them can be acquired from loot found through exploring and chests from both exploring and completing Side Quests.

How to Get Weapons in GBF Relink

Weapons in Granblue Fantasy Relink and upgrade materials for them can be acquired from loot found through exploring and chests from both exploring and completing Side Quests. In the Main Menu, players need only open the Gear section to pick out Weapons for each character and equip them, or they can view all the Weapons they've acquired so far in the Inventory section.

Weapons can also be acquired by Forging them through the Blacksmith, either in a town area or through a Hallowed Ground. Forging requires special materials to create entirely new Weapons to add them to the player's character's arsenal. Depending on the character's progress in the game, newly forged Weapons will already be leveled up to a certain extent, which takes out the need for players to start at Weapon level one and use up a lot of resources just to get to the party's current level, and the game's current difficulty.

How to Upgrade Weapons in GBF Relink

Just like the characters themselves, Weapons have their levels in Granblue Fantasy Relink. Players can see their Weapons' current levels just by selecting them from the Inventory or Gear section of the Main Menu. Beside the level, players can see six hollow stars. Weapons in Granblue Fantasy Relink follow an Upgrade System that is prevalent in most gacha games, while not being a gacha game itself. That is, Weapons will have a limited max level until they are uncapped by filling out each star. Starting from no stars, the Weapon's level is capped at level 10 until the first star is uncapped, increasing the level cap to level 30.

The next star will bring the cap up again to level 50, and so on. Uncapping a Weapon's max level will also increase the Trait level it comes with. Weapons can be uncapped and be leveled up to a maximum level of 120. Upgrading the Weapon's level will also entail using up Fortitude materials and will increase its base HP and ATK stats. Uncapping and filling up stars will entail using up various iterations of Refinium materials, depending on what rank they are being increased to.

How to Forge Weapons in GBF Relink

Forging Weapons entails using a variety of valuable materials to create entirely new Weapons for characters to use. As previously stated, forged Weapons are created with their level already upgraded to a certain extent, and capped to the star level that it's created. Therefore, again, there is value in waiting for and forging a new stronger Weapon for a new character the player would like to use, rather than spending resources upgrading a weaker Weapon they already have equipped. Upgrading and Forging can be done through the Blacksmith, either in the town hub or through a Hallowed Ground. Materials for both upgrading and forging Weapons can be found as loot through picking up Treasures as players explore, rewards from Side Quests, and dropped by monsters and Bosses.

Granblue Fantasy Relink Weapon Types

Defender Weapons

Early game Defender Weapons have the HP trait as their default trait, which increases the HP base stat when the weapon is equipped. All the playable characters in the demo have Defender Weapons as their default equipment until the player chooses to change them. In the full version of the game, Defender Weapons could possibly have other initial traits that emphasize the survivability of the character using them.

Ascension Weapons

Early game Ascension Weapons have the ATK trait as their default trait, which increases the ATK stat of the user when they have the Weapon equipped. The Sword of Eos, which Gran will acquire automatically after the player progresses through the story, is an Ascension Weapon. Other Ascension Weapons may have initial traits that cover other passive abilities that are useful in battle, such as cooldown reduction for Skills, increased window for Link Attacks, etc.

Executioner Weapons

Early game Executioner Weapons have the Weak Point DMG trait as their default trait, which in the older GBF games increases the user's damage whenever they hit Enemies that are weak to their element. Executioner Weapons are good to equip the player's chosen DPS characters in the party, especially when they know that the Enemies they're about to fight are weak to the characters' element. Other Executioner Weapons may have other initial traits that capitalize on dealing more damage through the Enemies' weaknesses.

Stinger Weapons

Early-game Stinger Weapons have the Critical Hit Rate trait as their default trait which increases the rate at which the user hits Enemies for critical damage. This is another good Weapon type for the party's DPS members to have equipped for big bursts of damage. Traits can stack, especially from equipped Sigils, so characters will be able to get their Critical Hit Rate up to even greater levels of consistency. Other Stinger Weapons may have other initial traits that have to do with getting critical hits in, or even making critical damage bigger.

Stunner Weapons

Early game Stunner Weapons have the Stun Power trait as their default trait which increases the rate at which the Stun gauge of Enemies builds up whenever they're hit by the user. This is a good utility-type trait that allows the more DPS-heavy members of the party to lay on their Link Attacks and increase the rate that the party gets to go on Link Time. Other Stunner Weapons could possibly have other initial traits that have to do with how to utilize the Stun mechanic of the game's battle system.

Terminus Weapons

Terminus Weapons are the endgame Weapons of the game and are regarded to be the best Weapons in the game when maxed out. When uncapped, upgraded, and awakened to the maximum level, they contribute Stats to the corresponding character with an amount greater than even maxed-out Ascension Weapons. Terminus Weapons give the Catastrophe and Regen Traits as their initial Traits. Catastrophe increases the character's attack power and raises the Damage Cap whenever their HP falls below a certain amount. Regen allows them to regain health every second they're in battle. Both Traits are quite powerful to have when tackling the hardest difficulty content of the game.
