How to Forge or Craft Weapons in GBF R
Forging or Crafting Weapons is the process of creating a brand new Weapon for one of your characters in the game from scratch. To Forge Weapons, players will need to select the Forge Weapons option at the Blacksmith. They will then see a list of all Forgeable Weapons they have access to so far. The list will be sorted by character so players are able to quickly see which Weapons they can forge for each character. After they choose which Weapon they'd like to Forge, the game will show the Weapon's Stats and traits, along with what level it will start at and up to what Max Level it's uncapped
Conveniently, players will also be able to see the Stats of the current Weapon they have equipped so they can compare and contrast. On the right-hand side of the screen, players will see the Required Treasure to Forge the Weapon. Once confirmed, they can Forge the Weapon, which will consume all the required Treasure needed for the process. Players will need Champion Merit to Forge any Weapon, along with other materials dropped in Quests and by killing Enemies, which will vary depending on the Weapon.
What are Weapons in GBF Relink
Weapons in Granblue Fantasy Relink are the characters' main Equipment and serve to deal damage to Enemies as well as contribute to the characters' Stats. Each Weapon provides a different set of stats and effects that improve a character's overall prowess. Each character can wield only a specific set of Weapons, but each one can be under any of the five Weapon types, each of which contributes a different spread of Stat points and different Traits.
Forging Weapons have the important value of versatility for players in terms of how they use their characters. That is, depending on the situation, they can equip a different Weapon to suit the role or playstyle needed to overcome each challenge. While players already feel comfortable or that they're set with the leveled Weapons they currently have, the game encourages players to collect more Weapons so that players are ready to adjust to different challenges, especially the difficult endgame content. Acquiring and upgrading Weapons also unlocks passive bonuses in the Masteries of each character.

Where To Forge or Craft in GBF Relink
Forging Weapons in Granblue Fantasy Relink is done through the Blacksmith which is unlocked as early as the first chapter. The Blacksmith can be accessed in town areas where players can prepare and resupply as they take on new Quests or get ready to continue the main campaign. The Blacksmith can also conveniently be accessed by interacting with any Hallowed Grounds that the player finds while exploring the world. The Forging or Crafting feature itself is unlocked during the sixth Chapter when players access the Blacksmith while having a Champion Merit in their Inventory. Players can also Upgrade their Weapons at the Blacksmith.
Forged Weapons are created with their level already upgraded to a certain extent, and uncapped to the star level that it's created. Therefore there is value in waiting for and Forging a new stronger Weapon for a character the player would like to use, rather than spending resources upgrading a weaker Weapon they already have equipped. So, when planning out their characters' loadouts, players should be sure to access the Blacksmith to check on any Weapons they might be able to Forge that can help them in their next endeavor.
How to Upgrade Weapons in GBF Relink
Just like the characters themselves, Weapons have their own levels in Granblue Fantasy Relink. Players are able to see their Weapons' current levels just by selecting them from the Inventory or Gear section of the Main Menu. Beside the level, players are able to see six hollow stars. Weapons in Granblue Fantasy Relink follow an Upgrade System that is prevalent in most gacha games, while not being a gacha game itself. That is, Weapons will have a limited max level until they are uncapped by filling out each star. Starting from no stars, the Weapon's level is capped at level 10 until the first star is uncapped, which then increases the level cap to level 30. The next star will bring the cap up again to level 50, and so on.
Uncapping a Weapon's max level will also increase the level of the Trait that it comes with. Weapons can be uncapped and be leveled up to a maximum level of 120. Upgrading the Weapon's level will also entail using up Fortitude materials and will increase its base HP and ATK stats. Uncapping and filling up stars will entail using up various iterations of Refinium materials, depending on what rank they are being increased to.
Where to Find Champion Merit in GBF Relink?
As mentioned previously, Champion Merit is the staple requirement for Forging any Weapon. Each Weapon will also have other materials required to Forge it, which varies per Weapon. These materials can come from Chests, loot from the ground, or they can be dropped by Enemies.
Champion Merits are mainly acquired through completing sections of the Main Campaign, and as rewards for various Side Quests that the players can accept and complete through the Quest Center in towns. The image above was taken right after defeating the Boss Managarmr towards the end of Chapter 5. To easily find out how to acquire more of these materials, players can put them into the Wish List System.
How to Use the Wish List System in GBF Relink?
The Wish List System is a convenient feature in Granblue Fantasy Relink that serves as a tool for players to easily farm any materials they need especially when dealing with the available features at the Blacksmith. When at the menu for Upgrading Weapons and Sigils, or Forging Weapons, players can click the option to look at the Details of the Required Treasure or materials for the process, which will allow them to view each material. Here they can press a dedicated button to put that material in their Wish List if they don't have it or need more of it. They can even add how many of it specifically they want to get. When players select and accept Quests, they will see any materials on their Wish List highlighted by a small magnifying glass, making it easier for them to sort out which Quests they can complete to farm the materials they need.
