Granblue Fantasy Relink also offers an End Game experience that will challenge players furthers after they have completed the Main Campaign. This part of the game will introduce additional content, features, and rewards to those who seek more challenge.

Pay Attention to Your Party Members' HP

Healing stands as a fundamental element across Role-Playing games, and Granblue Fantasy Relink adheres to this principle. Monitoring the health of party members remains a crucial strategy to prevent them from reaching critical conditions during combat scenarios. Granblue Fantasy Relink Players will be introduced to a wide variety of mechanics that will affect their characters in Combat. These mechanics often deal damage to their characters and when not handled properly, party members may be incapacitated and not perform well in combat.

After knowing each of the character's strengths and weaknesses, it is now time to build your party. Finding the balance between DPS-oriented characters and Supportive Characters is the key. Going in guns and blazing with all your favorite Damage Oriented Characters can only make it so far. Of course, as you progress through the game, players will need healers to patch up the party, especially in hard encounters such as boss fights. Not only healers are key in combat, but also support-oriented characters that provide various helpful buffs that can drastically improve your party's prowess on many occasions.

Take Advantage of your A.I. controlled Party Members

Granblue Fantasy Relink delivers an exhilarating and vibrant combat system, ensuring players remain captivated and delighted during their gameplay journey. With its fast-paced ARPG combat, the game offers both Solo and AI co-op party gameplay, enabling players to join forces with their companions or allies. Together, they can tackle daunting quests and engaging battles, amplifying the thrill of the experience. It will be overwhelming if one is forced to control four characters simultaneously.

Fortunately, players can only focus on playing one character in Combat and let the competitive AI do its work. This will help players strategize, since the said A.I. will let the players experience a unified crew when tackling quests, especially in Combat.

Engage Bosses Effectively in Granblue Fantasy Relink

Within the realm of Japanese Role-Playing Games, Bosses are characterized by their unique designs. Beyond their visually striking appearance, these formidable enemies commonly impede player progress and pose significant threats. Granblue Fantasy Relink adheres to this tradition, boasting a diverse assortment of intriguing designs, spanning from colossal behemoths and oversized goblins to dragons and humanoid entities.

Each boss in this iteration presents a distinct challenge, employing unique combat mechanics that players must decipher to evade their devastating attacks. Bosses also have their signature moves, which can usually inflict a fatal attack in just one hit. This is the type of attack that would catch players off-guard and is part of the learning process as they experience the game. Usually, signature moves have a window (or duration) that lets players avoid getting damaged by this attack, either through dodges or a Skill, liky Lyria's barrier.

Judging by the scale of Granblue Fantasy Relink, it will host intriguing and engaging boss fights. Each of these bosses has their unique weaknesses for players to figure out and exploit. Such as Elemental Weaknesses, Body Part Weaknesses, and more. In the recent demos, large bosses such as dragons behave strikingly the same compared to the Monster Hunter Series. Thus it is expected that these fights will be engaging and visually pleasing simultaneously.

Exploit the Stun Gauge in GBF Relink

In Granblue Fantasy Relink, the Stun Gauge represents an enemy's specialized meter that builds up when subjected to continuous attacks. Once this gauge reaches its limit, foes become vulnerable to Link Attacks, causing them to flinch. Consequently, it's recommended to concentrate efforts on a single target, capitalizing on this mechanic to inflict increased damage on the enemy over time.

Perform Link Attacks in Granblue Fantasy Relink

After filling the Stun Gauge, players gain access to execute Link Attacks against the targeted enemy. These unique attacks require coordinated group actions. Engaging in collective maneuvers via Link Attacks gradually raises the Link Level. Upon reaching 100% Link Level and executing a Link Attack with all members, the system triggers a temporary enhancement known as Link Time. Within this specific time frame, enemies experience reduced speed, while significantly boosting the entire party's statistics, enabling them to unleash substantial damage upon their targets.

Finding Help in End-game Content

Players can anticipate extended gameplay through challenging endgame content, primarily centered around intense combat scenarios. The game offers an excess of 100 hours of gameplay in its most challenging difficulty mode, ensuring a gratifying and fulfilling experience for those in search of heightened difficulty. Consequently, it is recommended to adeptly master combat mechanics and enable effective party synergy to overcome the game's most formidable challenges. If the content is simply too hard to tackle, one can always find aid by playing with other players online.

Recent insights from developer interviews and live streams emphasize the necessity for proper communication within the party to conquer these challenges. As an Action Role-playing title, honed skills are imperative. The end-game trials promise an immersive and rewarding experience, especially for hardcore players, given the developers' assurance that these battles are meticulously designed and unlikely to be conquered without precise communication and skillful execution.

Pay Attention to Character Progression

Every character available for play undergoes their progression journey. As characters level up through numerous encounters, they gain the opportunity to advance their Masteries. This unique advancement system permits players to unlock specific nodes, granting additional stats, talents, new skills, and various upgrades that collectively enhance the character's abilities.

Elemental Affinities in GBF Relink

Combat Style GBF Relink

With over 20 Characters to choose from, Granblue Fantasy Relink features a variety of combat styles. This determines their combat role and how the character will respond in situations if controlled by AI. A Support typically stays in the backline providing buffs and acquiring Skills that can debuff or disrupt enemy actions. This includes inflicting ailments like Slow, Poison, Burn, and other Status Effects.

combat 5 granblue fantasy relink wiki guide min

There are also Tank and Melee Hybrids like Ghandagoza. His playstyle is akin to a Brawler or a Barbarian, able to withstand damage and has a massive damage output. You will find Ghandagoza in the middle of the combat and it's ideal to have a Support that can back him up from a distance while he demolishes the Enemies. On the other hand, there are also Attack/DPS type of characters that offer strong damage output, in exchange for a low HP. Think of agile assassins or melee fighters. A good example of this is Lancelot, he wields Dual Blades and he can effectively cut through enemies with the combination of his Skills.

Aside from the ones mentioned above, there are also Balanced and Specialty types of characters. Balanced has a good mix of offense and defense on them, and they can fight just as much as they can stay in the backlines. For Specialty types, they cater to a specific playstyle like Ferry, a character that utilizes a Whip and has the power to Summon her pets to fight for her. There are other specialty types like Rackam, Siegfried, and others.

Learning About Masteries in GBF Relink

What are Masteries in GBF Relink?

Masteries are one of the ways that you will upgrade your Characters in Granblue Fantasy Relink. Masteries feature a node system that is purchased using Mastery Points (MSP) that gives various effects, raw stats, augments, new Skills, which are all used in combat.

  • Mastery nodes are either Passive or Active. Passive are effects, buffs, and augments that do not need a button to activate. On the other hand, Actives require a button and are usually followed by a quick animation to execute, like a Skill.
  • Mastery Points are required to purchase nodes in Masteries.
  • There are 4 Masteries categories: Offense, Defense, Collection (Weapons), and Over Mastery.

How to Unlock Masteries in GBF Relink

You can unlock Mastery while progressing one of the quests in Chapter 1: The Western Frontier. The quest becomes available after arriving at Folca Town and it's called: "Explore the Town". The objective comes with a list of NPCs that you will look for while in town. At the very top of your list, you will see Speak with Katalina, and after you meet with her and exhaust her dialogues, you will unlock Masteries in your Main Menu. You will find her on the outskirts of the town training with a dummy.

  • Offense and Defense are unlocked in Chapter 1: The Western Frontier.
  • Collection (Weapons Mastery) is unlocked after you uncap the maximum level of one of your weapons.
  • Over Mastery is unlocked once a character reaches Level 80.

Offense and Defense Masteries

2 information masteries granblue fantasy relink wiki guide

Offense and Defense nodes largely differ in the type of Skills, Effects, and Buffs that they offer. Offense focuses on increasing your character's ability to inflict damage while in combat, while Defense gives your character various effects that increase their survivability. The one thing they have in common is the mechanics of Mastery Progression. For both Offense and Defense nodes, these progressions are initially locked behind the Main Story, where certain nodes are limited until certain chapters are cleared. They also follow a node system where unlocked nodes will trickle into new and more powerful nodes.

  • Offense and Defense Masteries are unlocked in Chapter 1: The Western Frontier
  • Masteries have an independent progression from other characters.
  • Mastery Points are shared across all Allies.

Collections Mastery

4 information masteries granblue fantasy relink wiki guide

Weapon Collections Mastery grants a combination of Offense and Defense stats that gives characters an edge in combat. Nodes under Collections are locked behind Weapon Levels, and require players to upgrade their Weapons. The stats earned by characters are permanent, even if Characters stop using that specific weapon. Each Weapon Collection Node upgrade requires the weapon to reach a certain level found below:

  • Weapon Level 20
  • Weapon Level 50
  • Weapon Level 75
  • Weapon Level 100
  • Weapon Level 125
  • Weapon Level 150

Over Mastery

3 masteries overmastery endgame granblue fantasy relink wiki guide

Over Mastery is a new category of Masteries unlocked in End Game of Granblue Fantasy Relink. This allows characters to purchase a node using Mastery Points to earn 4 random bonus stats. Players can purchase one node of Over Mastery in the following levels:

  • Level 80
  • Level 90
  • Level 100 (max level)

While this is an End Game feature, we decided to add this here so new players will have an idea what things are going to look like after they have completed the Main Story of Granblue Fantasy Relink.

What are Mastery Points (MSP) in GBF Relink?

Mastery Points refer to the currency needed to purchase nodes in the character's Mastery. Each of the characters has a progression independent from the others and it is important to properly allocate the Mastery Points that you have. Mastery Points in Granblue Fantasy Relink can be earned in various ways:

  • Mastery Points are earned as characters level up
  • Found in the field while exploring
  • Can be retrieved from Treasure chests
  • Normal Story Progression

Getting Started on Your Adventures

Gameplay Tips for Granblue Fantasy Relink

  • Complete the Main Story first: Side Quests may be tempting, but the most important thing to do here is to finish the Main Campaign. Doing so will unlock additional features for you that will make your characters stronger.
  • Do minimal side quests: There are side quests that will give you numerous rewards like Save the Crustaceans, which requires you to recover Wee Pincers throughout Zegagrande Skydom.
  • Upgrade whenever you can: Don't be afraid to upgrade your Weapons whenever you get a chance. Visit the Blacksmith or the Hallowed Grounds to upgrade your Weapons.
  • Access the Hallowed Grounds: If you are in the middle of completing a Chapter, there's no need to return to Folca Town to access the Blacksmith for Upgrades. You can even access Siero's Knickknack Shack merchant services if you go to Hallowed Grounds. Hallowed Grounds becomes available in Chapter 2: Tempest on the Horizon. Just before you reach The Hills location.
  • Don't get overly fixated on Sigils: Sigil grind is what we consider the End Game in Granblue Fantasy Relink, because of the gacha-esque style where it is obtained randomly.
  • Form a well-balanced party: There are over 23 Allies that you can choose from and while it is nice to have each character unlocked, this is impossible to do so during the duration of just the Main Campaign. The story is relatively short and there are only 3 crewmate cards you can earn from Siero's Knickknack Shack. Unless you specifically want to go out of your way and unlock all characters, then you may do so. Generally, you want a combination of 2 Pure Damage and 2 Supports, or you can also try the 3 Pure Damage and 1 Support. This mostly depends on your playstyle and Character Build.
  • Recruit allies with the Crewmate Card: Try out new characters when you get the chance. This will give you a fresh game experience whenever you swap out your roster.
  • Manage your Mastery Points: This is one of the difficult tasks that you will do in Granblue Fantasy Relink. Mastery Points are a limited resource that needs to be carefully allocated as you progress. Make sure to prioritize unlocking the Masteries of your most-used characters.
  • Don't Sell Your Treasures for Rupies: It can be a little tempting to sell everything for Rupies, but in End Game, you can exchange Treasures for Knickknack Vouchers which can help you get high-level Sigils. So, don't sell your Treasures right away as it becomes more valuable in the End Game when you're trying to get Tier 4 or Tier 5 Sigils.
  • Taking Quests in the Quest Counter: Players will find all available quests in the Quest Counter. They can sort it by Difficulty, Type, and Location.
