What is Granblue Fantasy Relink?

Granblue Fantasy Relink is a new action role-playing game, it is part of the franchise of Granblue Fantasy, developed and published by Cygames. Granblue Fantasy Relink is an ARPG that features a single-player or a party of up to four players in online co-op mode, where players can experience real-time combat, a fast-paced system, as well as choosing from a diverse roster of well-known characters from Granblue Fantasy, each having its own specialization of weaponry, skills, and combat styles.

Granblue Fantasy Relink promises an extensive list of quests to tackle for both the single-player experience and online co-op, as well as a great number of enemies and bosses that vary depending on their race and the environment that is explored.

The Final Vision Quest

The eagerly awaited Final Vision Quest has at last made its debut with the 1.1.1 update, representing a greatly anticipated inclusion for all players. Recognized as the Lucilius Raid, this quest represents the pinnacle challenge in the game. Players will be able to unlock this quest by completing The Tale of Bahamut's Rage Quest. Sandalphon can be found in Seedhollow near the quest counter. Talking to him will unlock the quest. He will then engage in a dialogue with the player, recollecting the fight with Lucilius.

The Lucilius Fight in GBFR Relink

The Lucilius Fight is definitely the hardest fight in the game, not only players will require their best build or team setups, but they are also forced to learn new mechanics and attacks that never surfaced in the game in the past. These mechanics are full of one-shot attacks, punishing debuffs that can affect your whole team and bring you to utter defeat. Not only players will be dealing with more than three uniquely designed fight mechanics, but Lucilius' normal attacks also can deal tons of damage and take out any player that will be caught on it. The good thing about this fight and despite its difficulty, players are welcome to use their mains or any character to effectively clear this fight. Yes, some characters will have a hard time performing in this fight due to their playstyle however, with proper preparation it is still doable.

It is mandatory to learn all of the mechanics that the fight will bring to the table with a group or in offline mode. Fighting optimally is essential when participating in online sessions and the last thing that you want to do is waste the time of their mates due to frequent dying or wiping. We have prepared a guide for Lucilius and head to this link to be able to study the fight meticulously and gain the upper hand. There were a lot of cases where parties were being wiped after bringing down Lucilius HP as low as 20% and still failed.

What are Opus Sigils in Granblue Fantasy Relink?

The long-awaited Final Vision Quest has finally arrived alongside the 1.1.1 update, marking a highly anticipated addition for all players. This quest, also known as the Lucilius Raid, stands as the ultimate challenge within the game. Despite the high expectations for substantial rewards, the reality disappoints as players are only granted three new Sigils upon completion. These Sigils become available in Siero's Shop after defeating Lusilius once and can be exchanged using Tears of the Apocalypse and Dark Residue, both obtainable through the Lucilius Fight.

How To Acquire Opus Sigils in GBFR Relink?

Players will have to farm a special currency called Tears of Apocalypse and Dark Residues as quest rewards after beating Lucilius. The main hurdle in this grind is the chances of getting Tears of Apocalypse is quite rare. So it may take a considerable amount of time to max out these Sigils. Head to Siero Knickkack Shop and head to the Sigil section to trade the new Sigils.

How To Upgrade Opus Sigils in GBFR Relink

Players can then upgrade all of their Opus Sigils by reaching out to the local blacksmith. As mentioned previously, it will take a considerable amount of time to upgrade all of your Opus Sigils since the materials needed are indeed rare. That is if you can beat and farm efficiently.

Alpha Opus Sigil

Alpha Opus Sigils further increases the normal attack damage cap. It increases the normal attack damage cap by 25% at level 15 and 40% at level 30. Of course, the secondary trait is also a Damage Cap as mentioned. Also activating an SBA with this Sigil equipped boosts SBA gauge gain for all allies.

Beta Opus Sigils

Beta Opus Sigils increase skill damage cap on the other hand. This will help players increase players their skill damage cap perfect for characters who rely upon the raw damage of skills or base their overall damage on skills. At level 15, this Sigil increases Skill Damage Cap by 35% and at level 30, increases the skill Damage Cap by 50% and shortens skill cooldowns by 10% upon activating your SBA.

Gamma Opus Sigils

Gamma Opus Sigils on the other hand increases the overall damage cap of a build. It does add an additional 15% generic damage cap at level 15 and at level 30, increases Damage Cap by +30%, and has a shield effect that nullifies up to 50000 DMG upon activating your SBA. The added shield is useful for glass cannon builds or experienced players just in case they make a mistake in combat.

Skills are special actions that have a wide range of uses, from damaging foes to healing your allies. Each character learns their own set of skills, and up to four skills can be assigned for use in battle. Find the right combination of skills that complements your party members for maximum battle potential.

Grablue Fantasy Relink's Custom Parties

Whether playing online or offline, you can build and develop a four-person party befitting of your play style. Each character has access to their own talent tree they can learn new abilities from, as well as weapons and sigils only they can equip. As the captain of the crew, you make the calls.

All New Unique Chain Bursts

A Skybound Art is an attack that dishes out tremendous damage on its own, but when chained with the Skybound Arts of other party members, that triggers a damaging aftershock called a chain burst. Whether concentrating firepower on a single dominant threat or blasting swarms of foes, utilizing chain bursts is vital for staying alive.

Link Attacks with your Allies

Enemies have stun gauges that fill up as they take hits. Once their stun gauge is full, this creates the chance for a link attack—a simultaneous, full-party attack. Performing certain actions in battle increases the party's link level. When link level reaches 100%, executing a successful link attack triggers link time, which temporarily slows down all enemy actions while granting you beneficial status effects. Victory lies in the links made along the way.

Online Co-Op for Granblue Fantasy Relink

There are over 100 quests waiting to be tackled at a town's quest counter. Each quest has its own objectives and side goals that reward experience and treasure upon completion. These quests can also be played online with other players. Thanks to communication tools such as stickers and emotes, it's a great way to unite with skyfarers from around the world.

Granblue Fantasy Relink is a new ARPG and spinoff of the Granblue Fantasy series, this game is highly unique on its own in terms of story, combat, and gameplay features. Unlike other Granblue Fantasy Games, Granblue Fantasy Relink features characters that are unlockable within the game, a vibrant 3D world, new combat mechanics, extensive RPG elements, and more. Granblue Fantasy Relink will take place at the Zegargande Skydom or the Sky realm where players will explore floating islands that are situated in the clouds, as players embark on this wondrous journey,  they will face foes and entities that will try to break the peace of the world.

The journey starts as the player finds a letter that is left behind by their father who mentions a mythical island. Driven by the words of the player's father, adventure, and curiosity, inspire the main character to form a crew and venture off to this legendary island.  But before doing so, the main character meets a girl named Lyria, which causes a series of unexpected events to unfold — despite the challenges, the main character, along with their companions, will get the chance to meet a diverse cast of characters who can be recruited as allies and explore a colorful world.

A Threat that Lies Dormant

Although it may look serene at the Zegargande Skydom, there are Primal Beasts that lie dormant in the Sky realm, these creatures are said to possess god-like powers that naturally inflict chaos on anything and anyone. These creatures were created by the Astrals and they only obey their creators. As challenging as it may sound, going up against these beasts and defeating them is possible with the help of your allies, including the equipment and skills that you use in combat.

Granblue Fantasy Relink Gameplay

According to the developers, Cygames, Granblue Fantasy Relink will take about 20-25 hours to complete the main campaign. However, combining it with its side quests and online co-op content will take hours of grinding and completing the game. According to a recent interview with Wccftech, Cygames mentioned that they expect players to spend about 100 hours of gameplay if it is on the hardest difficulty. Granblue Fantasy Relink does not feature an open-world, but instead, players explore large spaces or maps of different locations within the Zegargande Skydom.

Are there Companions in Granblue Fantasy Relink?

Yes! Granblue Fantasy Relink is a party-driven game where you can recruit companions that are called "Allies". Aside from Lyria and Vyrn, many characters from the Granblue Fantasy games will make their appearance and are fully playable. Each character ranges from different combat styles, from magic wielders ranged combatants, and the classic melee fighters. Luckily, these characters can be recruited by completing quests, meeting certain requirements, and receiving items that unlock them through story progression.

Anime-style Combat

Combat in Granblue Fantasy Relink is fast-paced, features flashy anime-style designs, and uses a real-time combat system that mixes melee and magical moves. One of the important aspects of combat is forming a team that can synergize well with different moves and skills, ultimately executing link attacks and powerful chain bursts. When in combat, it happens seamlessly on the map where you'll engage in intense battles across different situations and environments.

• Link Attacks: Enemies in Granblue Fantasy Relink can be stunned and it requires filling up its gauge as you attack them. Once it is full, it provides an opportunity for a simultaneous, full-party link attack. As the party's link level is at 100%, link attacks will trigger link time which temporarily slows down time for a brief moment.
• Chain Bursts: A Chain Burst is a unique combat mechanic in Granblue Fantasy Relink. Upon chaining Skybound Arts of each party member, this will trigger a strong follow-up attack called a Chain Burst.
• Skybound Arts: Skybound Arts are unique abilities for each character that is available in the game. Skyboyund Arts allows the character to perform a flashy, cinematic attack once the SBA gauge is full. These are considered powerful abilities that deal large damage and prevents hostile targets from moving.

Relink's Co-op and Assist Mode

Co-op for Granblue Fantasy Relink

Granblue Fantasy Relink can be played solo with no AI companions, or with a party. Alternatively, players can also form a group of up to four players online. When playing online, members of the host's party will be able to clear the quest that has been completed and they can help even if they haven't unlocked it themselves. But if they want to progress their own quest log, they will need to unlock it in their own session.

What is Assist Mode in Granblue Fantasy Relink?

For players who want to focus on the story, they have the choice to play the game in Assist Mode. This mode causes the player's character to auto-attack for you, it's a similar combat mode to Final Fantasy 7 Remake's Classic Mode that shifts combat to auto-pilot. It is important to note that Assist Mode is not available in all of the content in the game and that all actions will be taken automatically which includes healing, dashing, and guarding.

Granblue Fantasy Relink 2024 Demo Exploration Features

• Hallowed Grounds: Hallowed Grounds are large floating green crystals set in the overworld that are said to keep monsters at bay. Interacting with it fully restores the player's party members' parameters and replenishes their equipped supply of consumables.

• Navyrngate: Navyrngate is a nifty feature players can use when they lose their while exploring the vast Skyrealm. Vyrn flies ahead of a group and emits a light to lead the group toward the objective that the player is currently tracking.
• Sigils: Sigils are valuable enchantments that players can customize on their characters' Weapons to provide them with various bonuses to their stats and other aspects of combat engagement. They are found in chests scattered in the overworld, as well as collected as loot for killing Enemies and completing challenges.
• Shrouded Treasure: Shrouded Treasure boxes are special chests that are visually blurred by a magic veil. Upon checking it, players have to collect all mirage stones that appear within a certain amount of time in order to access the special chest's contents.
• Treasure: The Treasure category encompasses various loot that the player is able to find in the overworld. They can be found through chests or by examining blue orbs in various spots. It's yet unclear in the demo what they are used for, but the game developers have alluded to a Crafting feature in the game when it's released in the full version, so some Treasure can be speculated to be materials.
• Omen Stone: Omen Stones are large stones glowing with a reddish hue. Checking them allows players to clear a special challenge for valuable rewards. To claim rewards, players must defeat Enemies empowered by the same reddish hue within a set time limit, followed by a stronger creature to cap things off.

Granblue Fantasy Relink 2024 Demo Combat Features

• Skills: Skills are special active abilities that each Character has that is unique to their kit and playstyle. They are mapped onto the shape buttons on the control and require a cooldown time before being used again after they have been utilized.
• Support Skills: Support Skills are various passive abilities that each Character has that shapes their playstyle and how their attacks and Skills play together. Players are encouraged to view all the Characters' Support Skills in the demo to fully optimize how they play them in combat with the various aspects of their different kits.
• Link Attack: Link Attacks are special combat attacks that players can use every time they fill out a target's Stun Gauge by hitting them with attacks and Skills. Players will get a prompt to press the circle button automatically whenever they are in ranged to a target that gets stunned. Link Attacks by all members of the party build up the points highlighted in blue on the right side of the screen.
• Link Time: When the points garnered by Link Attacks reach 100%, the next time every party member performs a Link Attack, Link Time activates automatically. In this state, Enemies become slowed while the entire party gains increased damage, health regeneration, and cooldown reduction on their Skills.
• Skybound Arts: The Skybound Art (SBA) gauge builds up whenever the character deals or sustains damage, and whenever other party members use their SBA. Then the SBA gauge is full, players can unleash their character's SBA, which is a powerful all-out attack.
• Chain Burst: Whenever two or more party members unleash their Skybound Arts in succession or simultaneously, Chain Burst is automatically unleashed, which is an even stronger combined SBA. The Chain Burst unleashed is different depending on how many and which party members are contributing to it.
• Overdrive: Bosses have a yellow bar below their health bar labeled 'Mode.' When this is filled up, they go onto Overdrive which activates a heightened state for them. For some, this activates Bloodthirst which greatly reduces the damage they sustain from any SBA temporarily. However, Any damage, SBA included, depletes the now-labeled Overdrive bar. Fully depleting the bar Breaks the target, rendering them immobile and so vulnerable to attacks for a period of time.

Gran/Djeeta

The main character of the game, Gran/Djeeta serves as the captain of the Skyfaring party. They are a wind-type character and boast the powerful Tempest Blade as their Skybound Art.

Katalina

Katalina is a water-type character who attacks with swift strikes from her trusty rapier. Her Skybound Art, Blades of Frost, creates giant ice imitations of blades to strike her Enemies.

Rackam

Rackam is a fire-type artillery-wielder who relies on powerful bursts of attacks and repositioning. He shoots two explosive rounds that burst into flames with his SBA, Piercing Punishment.

Io

Io is the light-type spellcaster in the initial party who relies on creating magical orbs that grant her both speed and power. Her SBA, Elemental Gust, combines the elements she wields in a devastating tornado.

Charlotta

This greatsword-wielding tiny captain of the Order of Holy Knights relies on stacking buffs onto her swift combo chains. Her light-type Noble Execution SBA empowers her greatsword even further for a single conclusive attack.

Ghandagoza

The towering fire-type Ghandagoza thrives on the frontlines with his tankier playstyle, and singular heavier attacks. Fist of the Red Lotus, his SBA, puts all his firepower into one explosive punch.

Narmaya

The dark-type katana-wielder Narmaya employs various attacks through her different stances, as the situation dictates, which get stronger as she creates special butterflies. With her SBA, Butterfly Effect: Moonrise, she cuts down everything in her way with utmost grace.

Lancelot

The water-type dual blade-wielder Lancelot empowers her blades with ice the longer he can chain attacks together. His fluid form culminates in his SBA, Weissfluegel, which unleashes devastating ice formations as he slices his target to ribbons.

Siegfried

The broadsword wielder Siegfried employs lethal precision in chaining his swings for maximum damage. His earth-type SBA, Schwarze Faenge, exemplifies this through a few heavy volcanic attacks.

Yodarha

The wind-type Yodarha employs the fastest attacks, most fitting of his element. Empowering his dualblades with wind he extends his combos almost infinitely with stronger and stronger hits, culminating in Ultimate Flash, his SBA, which doesn't give his target a moment to breathe.

Zeta

The fiery Zeta wields her spear to get the literal jump on her targets with her mid-air combat prowess. Her SBA, Resolute Strike, unleashes an explosive plunge from above to her pitiful targets.
