Fate Episodes is a special feature in Granblue Fantasy Relink that highlights unique stories and rewards for the different GBF Relink Characters. Fate Episodes are special visual chapters that players can experience at the Quest Counter. Fate Episodes allow for a glimpse into the Allies' perspectives throughout different events in the story of the game while acquiring rewards that can strengthen their stats. Fate Episodes answers questions like, "What was going on in that character's mind when this happened," or "Why did this character do that despite their personality?". Fate Episodes can be viewed anytime through any town's Quest Counter, so players should always check-in for any new ones whenever they're in Folca or Seedhollow. This page aims to list down all the Fate Episodes in the game and when or how they are unlocked.
GBF Relink What are Fate Episodes
Fate Episodes are special little episodes that players can view at the Quest Center about each of the Allies, including the main character Gran/Djeet. A Fate Episode is comprised of a few pages of lore that lets the player peer into the mind of the character during the various events of the story. More Fate Episodes are unlocked as players progress in the game's main story, and as the characters level up and get stronger. These episodes will have the characters narrating their thoughts and their perspective of the events that the party undergoes, fully voiced.
Some Fate Episodes entail fighting a special battle and defeating past Enemies, as shown by the symbol of two swords as opposed to the usual book symbol. These have a different reward than the usual Fate Episode that merely entails reading and listening. All these Fate Episodes can be freely accessed at any time at the Quest Center of any town, so players are encouraged to check the Quest Center for any new Fate Episodes every once in a while. If nothing else, they can enjoy Fate Episodes for their expansion of the game's lore. Each Character has eleven Fate Episodes in total.
GBF: Relink Fate Episodes Rewards
Whenever players finish viewing a character's Fate Episode, that character gets a boost in both their HP and ATK Stats. This feature is reminiscent of gacha game mechanics that allow the player to learn more about the characters they pull, with similar stat boosts as incentives. These boosts to HP and ATK seem to get higher and higher as the players view the Fate Episodes down the list. Viewing a Fate Episode will be a natural requirement to progress through and be able to view the subsequent Fate Episodes and get those exponentially increasing stat bonuses. Should players want to undertake a Quest or two from the Quest Center but are lacking in the recommended PWR, they should check in and see if there are any free power-ups they can get from any Fate Episodes they have yet to view.
At least two Fate Episodes from each character will entail defeating Enemies on top of the usual viewing pleasure. Players may find these a bit of a hassle, but they will force players to use the specific character to whom that Fate Episode belongs in a fight, which can be exciting. Completing his type of Fate Episode unlocks a Sigil slot for a character, which is a powerful bonus in and of itself.
