After defeating Maglielle, players will get a cutscene where Excavallion will appear. Players will need to approach his feet, be wary of the lasers as it can slow them down so it's recommended to get on from the front to the ankles. Break the walls to get to the Talus Reactor inside. Sometimes steam will appear and that will blow the players out back onto the sand. Excavallion will relocate and shoot a large laser from his hand, players can dodge this and still get back onto his ankles to destroy the Talus Reactor.

After destroying two Talus Reactors, Excavallion will get into Overdrive mode and will shoot out rockets toward players on the field, the rockets will take time to land, and players will be able to indicate where they will land with a red outline. Soon after Excavallion will release a larger bomb that will cover most of the arena. This bomb will take time to detonate so players will have more than enough time to leave the AoE. After this attack, a cutscene of Excavallion shooting rockets at the ships above, destroying them. Gatling guns will fall from the ships so players will be able to use those to destroy the rest of the exposing Talus Reactors. On the way to the Gatling guns, Excavallion will perform a ground blast that will emerge flames from the ground, players can easily dodge the indicated areas. While on the Gatling guns, Excavallion will dig his hand into the sand and raise boulders toward the player. It is recommended to leave when you see the boulders coming your way as it does deal a lot of damage. While on the Gatling gun, Excavallion will also shoot down rockets, players can indicate where it lands with a red ring on the field.

Once enough Talus Reactors have been destroyed, Excavallion will start to fall and expose his Spinal Core. At this point, players can make their way up to the spinal field while trying to dodge the falling rockets. A cutscene will show players getting lifted in the air and eventually stabbing Excavallion in the eye and getting back onto the Spinal field. There players will find the core being guarded by a yellow holo cage, smaller cores will rise up and some will be linked to the main core. Players will need to destroy the cores that are linked to the main core, once completed, the main core's holo cage will be destroyed and players can attack the Spinal Core. The second time around, the Spinal Core will activate Defense Overdrive where it will shoot out sparks that will land in the Spinal field, it can be indicated with a red mark so players can evade those. The Spinal Core will also have lasers on both sides that players will have to leap over, while the sparks are falling as well. Eventually, when it stops, the smaller cores will rise back up and players will need to destroy the cores that are linked to the main Spinal Core. The third time around, there will be falling sparks while players will need to destroy the linked cores and evade the sparks.
